On June 23, 2009, the Shanghai Baoshan International Folk Arts Festival Delegation visited the headquarters of the International Organization of Folk Art (IOV) of UNESCO in Andorf, Austria. Warmly received by the IOV Secretary General Mr. Hans J. Holz, the delegation visited the office of the headquarters and took group photos.
After Mr. Hans introduced the headquarters’ recent projects and the Andorf city to the delegation, both parties exchanged views on how to further cooperate with each other. Mr. Hans praised Shanghai Baoshan International Folk Arts Festival as a model of the festivals organized by the IOV and promised to continuously offer the utmost help.
At a special banquet following the discussion hosted by Mr. Hans and Mr. Peter Pichler, Mayor of Andorf, the municipal choir and dance troupe gave wonderful performances, and Mr. Peter presented the delegation with the souvenirs of the city.
It was the first time the members of the Shanghai International Folk Arts Festival Delegation had visited the IOV headquarters since it joined the organization in 2004, and the visit enhanced the communication and understanding between both parties.
